If any of you readers are still out there I'm back! New blog currently under construction but with Killachella 2011 around the corner I wanted to catch listeners up to speed. Musical recap from April 2010 (which is when I think my last post was) to April 2011 coming soon.

I'd like to kick it off with one song recorded three ways by three very different artists all to be featured at Killachella.

First up Yeezy. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is one of the best if not the best album of 2011. Kanye kills it with features from every artist on the spectrum including Bon Iver, Elton John and Kid Cudi. This is one my my favorite tracks from the album...I bring you "All of the Lights" the original (a joint worthy of 22 million views...take that Rebecca Black).



Next Colorado native Derek Vincent Smith takes a stab at "All of the Lights" with this remix from his New Year's show in Chicago. Pretty Lights experiments with samples from all genres and combines vocals and beats from folks like Ella Fitzgerald and Sam Cooke and turns them into a trippy dubstep/electronica performance that stimulates the senses both audibly and visually.



Last but definitely not least, Childish Gambino. Donald Glover (also known as Troy Barnes from the TV series community) has become an overnight sensation in the blog world. I can not say enough about Chidish Gambino as both his beats and lyrics are musically satisfying. Reminds me of Lupe's old school nerd swag before Atlantic started to make him crazy. DO NOT sleep on this dude because he is here and he's "Not Going Back" (pardon my Gambino track pun...many many more Gambino tracks to come).
